Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
This website, davidvandykeinsurance.com, is operated for David VanDyke, a licensed insurance agent with Shield Insurance Agency, 3214 Chicago Dr, Hudsonville, MI 49426. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean David VanDyke and Shield Insurance Agency.
We are committed to protecting your privacy as a visitor to this website and as our customer. We will not sell, trade, lease, or rent any personally identifiable information to any third party not specifically authorized by you to receive your information, except as described in this Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
We collect information you choose to give us, including when you:
- Fill out the quote request or client intake form on this website. Depending on the coverage you ask about, this can include your name, contact details, address, date of birth, driver and vehicle details, home details, current insurance information, and any documents you upload, such as declarations pages.
- Submit a lead form through one of our ads on Facebook or Instagram (your name, phone number, email address, and your answers to the form's questions).
- Book a call with David through our scheduling page, call us, or email us.
When you apply for or purchase a policy, we may also collect personal information from you on applications or other forms, from your transactions with us, from other insurers, and from consumer reporting, insurance reporting, and government agencies, as described in the Notice of Insurance Information Practices below.
How we use your information
We use your information to contact you, prepare insurance quotes, and provide service if you become a client. When you request a quote, your information is shared with the insurance companies we quote with, so they can quote and, if you purchase a policy, establish you as a policyholder. We may send you a short email confirming we received your request.
Service providers we use
We use a few companies to run this website and handle your request. They process your information only on our behalf:
- Vercel, which hosts this website and temporarily stores documents you upload until they are delivered to David.
- Resend, which delivers the emails sent from this website.
- Google, which stores a record of your request in a private spreadsheet that David uses to track follow-ups.
- Calendly, if you book a call through our scheduling page.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which collects the information you enter in our ad lead forms and passes it to us.
We do not sell your nonpublic personal information to anyone. We do not disclose it to affiliates or other third parties except as described here or as required or permitted by law. As permitted by law, we may share nonpublic information with companies that perform administrative or marketing services for us, and our agreements with them limit how they may use it.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
This website uses cookies and similar technologies, including:
- Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site.
- The Meta Pixel, to measure the results of our Facebook and Instagram ads.
- Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors interact with pages so we can improve them. On the intake form, page text is masked so Clarity does not capture what you enter.
- Your browser's local storage, to remember which ad or link brought you to the site, so we know which of our marketing is working.
These tools may recognize you across visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook ad settings.
Text messages
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties.
Protecting your information
We take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us, and our website uses encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. To protect your privacy, please do not send confidential personal information, such as your Social Security number, by regular email. Call us instead.
Notice of Insurance Information Practices
Personal information about you, including information from a credit report and loss history, may be collected from persons other than you in connection with an application for insurance and subsequent policy renewals. You have the right to review your personal information in our files and can request correction of any inaccuracies. Such information, as well as other personal and privileged information collected by us or our agents, may in certain circumstances be disclosed to third parties without your authorization to assist in servicing your account. A more detailed description of your rights and our practices regarding such information is available by contacting us.
Any person who knowingly and with intent to defraud any insurance company or another person files an application for insurance or statement of claim containing any materially false information, or conceals for the purpose of misleading information concerning any fact material thereto, commits a fraudulent insurance act, which is a crime and subjects the person to criminal and (NY: substantial) civil penalties. (Not applicable in CO, HI, NE, OH, OK, OR, or VT; in DC, LA, ME, TN, VA and WA, insurance benefits may also be denied.)
